Netcracker Technology was co-founded in 1993 by Dr. Michael Feinberg, currently Netcracker’s Chief Technology Officer and Bonnie Ward, the company’s Vice President of Corporate Initiatives. In 2008, after 15 years of independent growth, the company was acquired by NEC Corporation.[citation needed] Netcracker then became a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC.

Netcracker Technology Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation, is a provider of business support system (BSS), operations support systems (OSS) and software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) solutions. The company also offers professional services (including planning and consulting, operations and maintenance, and support), as well as managed services.

Headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, Netcracker maintains operations and development facilities across the globe.

Waltham is a city in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States, and was an early center for the labor movement as well as a major contributor to the American Industrial Revolution. The original home of the Boston Manufacturing Company, the city was a prototype for 19th century industrial city planning, spawning what became known as the Waltham-Lowell system of labor and production. The city is now a center for research and higher education, home to Brandeis University and Bentley University. The population was 60,636 at the census in 2010.

Waltham is commonly referred to as Watch City because of its association with the watch industry. Waltham Watch Company opened its factory in Waltham in 1854 and was the first company to make watches on an assembly line. It won the gold medal in 1876 at the Philadelphia Centennial Exposition. The company produced over 35 million watches, clocks and instruments before it closed in 1957.

Its vision is to build preference for safe water, sanitation and hygienic practices in unaddressed, isolated and marginalized communities of the world.

The Backpacks for Kids Foundation

The Backpacks for Kids Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing children in need in the Greater Boston area with backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming school year. Backpacks for Kids was founded in 2001 by Kaitlin Murphy, Kristen Raymond, Kim Roth, and Leslie Wardwell. The organization has been led by Elizabeth Allen, Eric Bartholomae, Sarah Bartholomae, and Devon Laidman, and most recently by Charlie and Meredith Allen, Bailey Laidman and Kerrianne Brown. Noel Gridley, Ben Gridley, Aryana Moghaddam and Cameron Moghaddam, and their families took over at the beginning of 2017. Emma & Alex Goodness are joining the team in 2019.

Right Now

After the extreme success of the 2018 summer, providing 777 backpacks to children in need, we are now seeking donations and planning for the 2019 drive! We have started shopping for supplies and contacting service agencies. We have maintained relationships with 10 different service agencies, and they have continued to rely on our support since 2001.
